When it comes to dating we sift through every one in the world to find that one person we want to be with all people do this whether we know it or not. There are 7 steps in filtering potential partners
1. We start by looking at the pool of eligible which includes every one in the world.
2. Gender Preferences
3.Propinquity and Sex Ratio - We tend to date those around us in our community that leads to the factor of male to female ratio If there are more females the male some females may have to go outside of there region to find their partner.
4.Endogomy and Exogomy- Endo when we choose people cause there in certain groups Exo we choose to someone because their outside someones group
5. Homogamy- when we choose people who are like us
6. Value and role similarity- you tend to date people that have the same values as yourself
7.Co-habitation or engagement
Today dating is a lot different then it was in the past. In the past living together before marriage was frowned on, now a large majority of the population live together while not married. With technology comes a new way for people to meet people that they normally would not meet either because they run in different crowds or live in completely different communities. Internet dating I believe will play a large role in how people date in the future.
